The 2020 Tinto red is a selection of some 20 small plots in the Vale D. Pedro. It's more or less a village wine, representing the maritime influence (20 kilometers from the sea and 20 kilometers from the Bussaco mountains). They have some wines from small growers, but in 2024, it's 100% their own grapes, from organically farmed vines. It's a vinification by plot, with indigenous yeasts and 20% to 30% whole clusters. It ages mostly in barrels and oak vats for two winters and then is kept in bottle for one more year. So, they sell the entry-level red wine with some age. It has a cool nose with some herbal notes and is a little lighter and elegant, with a contained 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.04, 6.04 grams of acidity and a medium body with very good freshness and elegant tannins. It showcases the style of their reds, contained ripeness and elegance. 20,000 bottles and 110 magnums were produced. It was bottled in February 2023.
