Château Palmer
Alter Ego de Château Palmer, Margaux, 2012
justerini & brooks tasting note
Chateau Palmer told us that the threat of Botrytis was constant throughout the harvest, however, the low yields (28hl/ha) helped maintain healthy conditions. They describe the Merlots as 'rich and exuberant' and the Cabernets as 'linear and precise'. The Alter Ego is produced from 51% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot and has a charming bouquet of high toned flowers, plums and cassis fruit pastels. The palate is sexy, sleek and packed with vibrant dark fruit. There are notes of loganberry, bilberries and a touch of leafy elegance. A really seductive wine with beautifully worked tannins.
