Marsannay, Les Longeroies, 2022
A wine that invariably requires a little more time than Vaudenelles, this is unsurprisingly harder to taste and yet you sense a complexity and animation at heart. From barrel this is definitely more about tension and energy than aromatic splendour, though you suspect that will come easily enough. A complex, dynamic Marsannay that will repay some cellaring. Now fermented with 50% whole bunches and aged in predominantly used barrels.
critic reviews
The 2022 Marsannay Les Longeroies is bright and tangy, exhibiting notes of red berries, orange zest and petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, chalky and taut palate that will age with grace.
The 2022 Marsannay Les Longeroies has some of my favorite aromatics amongst the Domaine's Marsannay: ebullient dark cherry fruit mixed with violet and light loamy aromas. The palate has more depth and concentration, a touch of cola infusing the black fruit with insistent grip on the finish. Great focus and energy here.
