Marsannay, Les Longeroies, 2023
Given the sophistication, finer structure and the increased complexity, Arthur plans on bottling this later than Vaudenelles. Creamy cherry notes, silky tannins, and a bright pixellated quality to the fruit. Caressing and bright. A top Marsannay from a firstrate vineyard planted on poor soil, situated mid slope, that is one of the prime candidates for elevation to Premier Cru status, a process Marsannay vignerons hope will be confirmed for the 2025 vintage. Fermented with 30% whole bunches and aged in predominantly used oak barrels.
critic reviews
The 2023 Marsannay Les Longeroies mingles aromas of raspberries and cherries with hints of mint and peony. Medium-bodied, lively and concentrated, with powdery tannins and a sapid finish, it's a lovely wine in the making.
The 2023 Marsannay Les Longeroies is one of the hidden gems of the range, very well defined with a mixture of vibrant red and black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit—a real expression of Pinot Noir here, with a precise and persistent finish. Excellent.
