The stoniness of the terroir shines through the sun-kissed fruit of the vintage offering notes of ripe lemons, acacia, stone fruit, slate and crushed rocks. Harmonious and full-flavoured yet with sufficient tension and poise. Fermented and aged in foudres and barriques, 20% new oak. A Chardonnay from Morey-St.-Denis is a rare thing, the vast majority of the commune being planted with Pinot Noir, but it can be exceptional, as this regularly is. A vineyard located just above Bonnes-Mares, En la Rue de Vergy is planted on poor, rocky limestone soils.
