    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
Bruno Clair, Savigny Lès Beaune, La Dominode, 1er Cru, 2009

A legendary Savigny parcel of extremely old vines many of which were planted back in 1902. Absolutely top notch, this can mix it with the best Crus of the Côte de Nuits. Big, dense and wild, the fruit is rich and complex but is given freshness by a scintillating minerality and savoury undergrowth complexity: flavours of bullace, blueberry, plum and damson, finishing on long sweet fruit and mineral flavours.

    Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
(no hail or frost here in 2015, according to Clair): Medium red. Musky, deeply pitched aromas of raspberry, strawberry and smoky, flinty minerality. Quite taut in the early going, even a bit tough, and not showing the vintage's fleshy side today. But this firmly structured wine finishes with palate-stimulating salinity and subtle length. I would not be surprised if this eventually merited a rating at the top end of my projected range.
