Corton Charlemagne, Grand Cru, 2009
A quite densely fruited nose delivers real complexity as well as elegance with mostly floral notes to the otherwise ripe green apple and stone aromas. There is excellent richness to the full-bodied, serious and textured broad-shouldered flavors that possess an abundance of palate staining extract that culminate in a focused, powerful and explosive finish. This is terrific and should improve for up to a decade.
critic reviews
The 2009 Corton-Charlemagne is a rich, large-scaled white. It shows considerable depth and richness, with layers of fruit that builds effortlessly towards the explosive finish. This is a dramatic wine loaded with personality and sheer character. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. Various American importers, including: Martin Scott Wines, Little Neck, NY; tel. (516) 327-0808
