Domaine Jean Grivot
Echézeaux, Grand Cru, 2018
justerini & brooks tasting note
Less broad and enveloping than the Clos de Vougeot but with more dynamism to it. Tight-knit ripe red berry fruits, not flashy but with plenty of verve. There is a rockiness and chalkiness to the mid palate providing some mineral energy which offsets the ripe kirsch notes on the finish rather well. Spellbinding Echézeaux from two prime plots, Les Rouges and Cruots.
