Tightly woven layers of fruit and sweet spice, gosh, you can sense there’s really quite gorgeous fruit here waiting to emerge. Complex, refined, deep with palpable energy and so many easy layers of sensual complexity. Very relaxed with its greatness. Very complete. A spellbinding Echezeaux from two prime plots, les Rouges and Cruots.

The 2022 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a vivid, bright bouquet with perfumed, very floral red berry fruit and touches of white flowers filtering through with time in the glass. Quite classic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, slightly tarry black and red fruit, hints of black pepper and graphite towards a complex, engaging finish. Superb.
