Nuits St Georges, Aux Boudots, 1er Cru, 2019
Mightily impressive. Boudots is situated on the Vosne side of the commune and the Grivot bottling displays many of its hallmarks this year. Wonderfully persistent flavours of kirsch, strawberry and plush forest fruits are cloaked in velvety tannins that bring definition to this hugely seductive and yet vibrant Nuits St Georges. Intense and very long on the finish, this may well be the best Boudots we can remember tasting. Boudots, well situated next to Vosne Romanee Malconsorts, produces some of the bigger, richer and broader style of Nuits whilst keeping a silky texture.
critic reviews
The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 1er Cru is gentler on the nose compared to the Pruliers, scents of wild strawberry, raspberry, crushed limestone and light ferrous aromas unfolding from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a sweet entry. This has a lot of sucrosity and energy. Powerful and vivacious toward the saline finish, which reveals touches of boysenberry and black cherries and lingers for 45 seconds. Superb.
