A Nuits Premier Cru vineyard on the Vosne side of the appellation and thus usually one of the silkier wines of the Chevillon cellar, the 2010 has a wonderful texture but significantly more power and structure than usual. A very intense Chaignots that offers notes of ripe sloe, dark berry, Victoria plum with hints of sweet red berry and griotte; suave but solid, impressive.

The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Les Chaignots shows the more delicate, finessed side of Nuits in its red cherries, flowers and spices. The influence of the location of this site, on the northern side of Nuits abutting Vosne, comes through in the wine's elegance. Firm tannins suggest the wine will need at least a few years in bottle to soften.
