Robert Chevillon
Nuits St Georges, Les Pruliers, 1er Cru, 2009
justerini & brooks tasting note
A classic, really complete Nuits – mineral, structured and powerful but not without refinement, tight-packed, bursting, with small, juicy red berry fruits, notes of raspberry, damson, sloe and redcurrant, really long and focused, juicy fruit with a tangy mineral undercurrent, gripped by powerful but noble tannins. Very impressive.

The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Les Pruliers wafts from the glass with freshly cut flowers, sweet spices, smoke and red berries, all supported by fine, but youthful tannins. The aromas and flavors are quite open and expressive, but the tannins need another few years in bottle to soften further. For now, the Pruliers is a wine for the cellar. The inner purity, sweetness and breadth all hold significant promise.
