Hautes Cotes de Nuits, Rouge, Aux Chaumes, 2020
A breezy, alpine nose of red currant and herbs. The palate is equally lifting with small, intense crunchy red berry and currant fruits reverberating throughout. Lively, fresh and ripe. A great success. Planted on the plateau on poor limestone soils. The vines are planted north to south, which helped protect the grapes from sunburn in 2020.
critic reviews
From soils that are richer in clay, the 2020 Bourgogne Hautes-Cotes de Nuits Aux Chaumes exhibits aromas of cherries, plums and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, soft and velvety palate that's seamless and charming.
The 2020 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Aux Chaumes, which contains a little more clay than the Les Dames Huguette, has a delightful, perfumed red cherry and orange pith scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, good tension with veins of blue fruit on the finish.
