Vosne Romanée, 2020
A Vosne showing distinct "Nuits" traits - brawny, compact flavours of hedgerow berry, sloe, earth and undergrowth. Concentrated, brooding and punchy. Aged in 50% new oak barrels originating from five parcels of vines aged between 30 and 60 years old.
critic reviews
The 2020 Vosne-Romanee reveals aromas of cassis, cherries, exotic spices and sweet soil tones, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and velvety palate that's long and concentrated, with lively acids and a saline finish.
The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Village, the usual five parcels from four climats, was showing just a light reduction on the nose that made it difficult to read. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, nicely structured (almost Morey-like) with white pepper and sous-bois towards the finish. Not bad, though it needs just a little more clarity.
