Clusel Roch
Côte Rôtie, Les Grandes Places, 2006
justerini & brooks tasting note
Aged in 40% new oak this is deeply concentrated, powerful yet cool and composed. Lovely fine, ripe red and black cherry fruit, notes of raspberry, herb and pepper spice with a strong underlying mineral character bolstered by a well-defined but firm clasping tannic backbone.

Bright medium red. Deeper and more brooding than the classique, with powerful scents of blackberry, cassis, smoked meat, black cardamom and graphite. Brighter in the mouth, offering sweet dark berry and candied cherry flavors, with slow-building tannins adding grip. The finish features broad, fleshy berry fruit and candied floral qualities and excellent persistence. This already shows a boatload of luscious fruit.
