Côte Rôtie, La Landonne, 2015
Cote Rotie pf muscle and power, explosive dark fruits steadied by a firm tannic spine. Ripe bramble fruit mixed with of lots of earth pepper and smoke character, ripe but really driven and robust. Impressive. All whole bunch in 15 as usual for everything. Fermented with whole bunches and aged in large demi-muid casks, a maximum of 10% of which are new.
critic reviews
Inky ruby. Deep-pitched, smoke- and spice-accented aromas of black currant and cherry compote, violet and incense take on a hint of exotic spices with air. Lush and expansive on the palate, offering concentrated black and blue fruit liqueur, licorice and spicecake flavors that are sharpened by a smoky mineral element. Becomes sweeter and livelier with air and finishes extremely long, featuring rounded tannins and lingering spiciness.
