    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
René Rostaing, Côte Rôtie, La Landonne, 2016

True to type this is bigger-framed and bolder than the Ampodium. Statuesque as eve, but with more refinement than usual. Broad, voluptuous bramble and loganberry flavours, aromatic notes of violet and a twist of white pepper. A really suave and corpulent La Landonne with a large structure behind it. Fermented with whole bunches and aged in large demi-muid casks, a maximum of 10% of which are new.

Saturated magenta. Powerful kirsch, blackberry, exotic spice, licorice and potpourri qualities on the deeply perfumed nose. Shows excellent concentration as well as energy to its sweet, expansive black and blue fruit, licorice, bitter chocolate and espresso flavors, which are sharpened by smoky mineral and cracked pepper flourishes. Chewy tannins add grip to a very long, focused finish that echoes the dark berry and floral notes.
