Barolo, Brunate, 2019
Compact, firm, more serious and powerful than La Serra with fully pixellated dark fruits of black cherry, plums and bramble. This possesses a stony, mineral feel - composed and impressive. One of the great crus of Barolo, situated high up in the La Morra commune just underneath La Serra, with a south / southeast exposure. Aged for two years in small, lightly toasted French oak barrels, no more than 20% new.
critic reviews
The 2019 Barolo Brunate is a dark, virile wine. In other words, classic Brunate. Black cherry, licorice, sage, menthol, licorice, dried herbs, lavender and graphite are some of the many notes that build as this potent, strapping Barolo shows off its irrepressible personality. This is one of the most impressive Barolos I have tasted from Roberto Voerzio in quite some time.
