    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Fornace is a single plot in the Castelnuovo d'abate zone. The debut Fornace is a really intense, broad, full-blooded Brunello crammed to the rafters with ripe, exuberant fruit, notes of damson plum, kirsch and crème de mure but there is more than just fruit -layers of spice and savoury characteristics of liquorice, cinnamon, star anise, stone and herb, complement the rich, ripe fruit and make for a very complex, powerful wine. Stephen Tanzer,
    Vinous
Good deep, bright red. Ripe aromas of currant, dark plum, loam, tobacco and menthol. Lush and fat on entry, then large-scaled and plush in the mouth, with a gamey, saline quality to the sweet fruit flavors. Slightly warm and on the soft, chunky side. Finishes with a broad dusting of tannins and good lingering sweetness.
