Hopewell Hills, Eola Amity Hills AVA, Pinot Noir, 2017

The neighbouring vineyard to Gathered stones, gently sloping and south-east facing, a vineyard of shallow, light silt and clay soils over heavily fractured rocks that produces wines of fabulously bright fruit and fine minerality in a slightly gentler structure than Gathered Stones. The flint in the soils comes across strongly, with firm minerality, and illuminated red blue fruit that sits on a strong bed of intensely stony minerality. You can almost taste the bedrock.
