    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
Domaine de Chevalier Blanc, Pessac Léognan, 2021

Regularly one of our favourites, the 2021 does not disappoint. One of the whites of the vintage. Serious without being challenging, complex but easy to drink, this offers a classy, nuanced mix of salted lemon, herb, stone fruit and mineral characteristics. Tangy, vibrant and complex flavours neatly woven together. Layered, intense but with a degree of restraint and composure. 75% Sauvignon Blanc 25% Semillon.

Great stuff, with momentum building from beginning to end, blueberry, black cherry fruits, delivered with an extra kick of liqourice and chocolate. Needs time to age, but feels like it will reward a good five to six years in bottle, and is one of the few where you don't have to excuse the vintage - just enjoy an earlier-drinker, well sculpted year. 30hl/h yield. In organic conversion. An upsocre.

A blend of 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon, the 2021 Domaine de Chevalier blanc bursts from the glass with vivacious notes of fresh lemons, yuzu zest, and lime leaves, plus hints of green apples, dill seed, and sea spray. Medium-bodied, the palate is tightly wound with loads of mineral and citrus layers, delivering amazing tension, finishing very long and minerally.

The 2021 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc was one of the best wines that I tasted, white or red, during en primeur. Now in bottle, it has a captivating bouquet of mineral-rich citrus fruit that represents one of the most complex I have encountered in any vintage. The palate is well-balanced with a beautiful line of acidity and a slightly resinous texture, very complex and intense on the finish that lingers in the mouth. What a fabulous dry white Bordeaux this will become.
