    Geographically the other side of the appellation to Charmes, and stylistically, too. This is all about very fine, poised, intricate flavours. Notes of black cherry, violet, red berry and plum skin, wrapped in the most glorious, fluffy tannins. A beauty. Next to the Chassagne border, Les Prarons is situated just under Clos des Tavannes and is planted with 50 year old vines.

    The 2020 Santenay Les Prarons Dessus presents a tightly wound, tertiary bouquet that opens almost reluctantly in the glass. The palate is well balanced and quite saline, and the 25% whole bunches are nicely integrated. Rather spicy with a touch of balsamic toward the finish. So much freshness and vibrancy in this Santenay! Excellent.
