Château de Marsannay
Marsannay, Clos de Jeu, 2017
justerini & brooks tasting note
Fermented with 50% whole bunches but you would not know it, such is the impeccable, silky texture of this fine Marsannay. Creamy, rosetinged damson and plum fruit interwoven with beautiful, cashmere tannins. Bewtichingly floral and elegant. A superb parcel, sitting just above the Château planted on poor soils that are rich in limestone.

The 2017 Marsannay Clos de Jeu was quite introverted when I tasted it from barrel, and that's the case from bottle, too. Unwinding to reveal notes of cassis, blackberries, sweet soil tones, burning embers and warm spices, it's medium to full-bodied, with lively acids, good depth at the core and refined but youthfully firm structuring tannins.
