Marsannay, Clos de Jeu, 2020
Ripe, generous, aromatic red fruit with a herbal minty note. Supple and perfumed on the palate, the most seductive and alluring flavours of red berry, damson and cherry blossom with a savoury, edgy limestone finish. Very Chambolle like. Curvaceous, sensual but bright, mineral and even keeled. Pure joy. A superb parcel, sitting just above the Chateau planted on poor, hard soils that are rich in limestone. The oldest vines here are 60 years old, the youngest 20. Fermented with 40% whole bunches.

The 2020 Marsannay Clos de Jeu is similarly superb, mingling notions of sweet berries and blood orange with scents of vine smoke and dark chocolate. Medium to full-boded, ample and fleshy, with a broad attack that segues into a suave, seamless mid-palate and a mineral finish, it will offer a broad drinking window.
