    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

As you would expect: a more lively, mineral wine than the Referts - intense chalky and powdery minerals. The fruit is ripe but clear. Golden berry flavours with dry stone bite. Long and complex. Very classy. The vines average 50 years-old. Half of the vines comes from the 1er Cru part of the En la Richarde lieu-dit, next door to d’Auvenay’s En La Richarde parcel.

(for the first time, the estate will bottle its two disparate parcels in Folatières separately; this one is situated below La Truffière): Straw-yellow. Reticent scents of ripe peach and butter. Fatter than the Truffière, showing less in the way of acidity. Broad, dry and rich, with a hint of floral lift, but doesn't quite come alive today. Seems higher in alcohol than some of the foregoing samples. Ultimately less floral than I would expect from Folatières., but the rich finish offers very good rising length.
