Chambolle Musigny, Les Veroilles, 1er Cru, 2010
A great Véroilles, one of the very best Chambolles in 2010. Very clear, bright aromas; taut, racy and dense but with curvaceous tannins, bursting with ripe fruit flavours of red and blackcurrant, red cherry, bramble and loganberry. Ripe and expansive with a razor-sharp focus, close to top Bonnes-Mares quality. Véroilles is one of Chambolle’s highest Crus, along with Fuées, adjacent to Bonnes-Mares, often producing very intense, racy and tight-knit wines.
critic reviews
Good bright, saturated red. Very closed nose hints at red berries and licorice. Almost shockingly silky on the palate, delivering highly concentrated flavors of red fruits, spices and licorice complicated by a saline and nuance. Boasts great palate presence and sappiness but comes across today as a bit less sweet than the Fuees. Finishes very broad, with a serious but fine dusting of tannins.
