Lieser Niederberg Helden, Riesling, Kabinett, 2019
As ever this is the most rich and earthy of the Schloss Lieser Kabinetts yet that is not to say it isn’t focussed and fine, with a real sense of red slate, and an intense, gripping, extract laden palate. Intense and jam packed with robust, flavoursome red apple and earthy slate notes. This may not be the most delicate Kabinett in Thomas’ range, but the sheer force of its personality is sure to win you over.

The 2019 Lieser Niederberg Helden Riesling Kabinett opens with notes of clayey slate and spicy, intense and super ripe fruit aromas. Lush and elegant on the palate, this is a salty, piquant and elegant Helden with finesse and the richness of a Spatlese. The 2019 Helden Kabinett is stimulatingly salty and crystalline in any case. Very promising. Bottled in March, tasted in April 2020.
