critic reviews

90/100Neal Martin,Vinous

The 2020 Pédesclaux is straightforward and neatly delineated on the nose, displaying mainly black fruit mixed with potpourri and cedar scents. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy, ripe tannins, fine depth and notable cohesion. A judicious touch of spice lingers on the peppery finish. Maybe it lacks a bit of sophistication at the moment, but I enjoy the capsicum-tinged close. It should repay three or four more years in the cellar. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

89+/100William Kelley,Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Aromas of dark berries, loamy soil and pencil shavings preface the 2020 Pedesclaux, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and succulent wine that's let down by somewhat austere, drying tannins that assert themselves on the finish. Perhaps time will be kind to it?

93/100Lisa Perrotti-Brown,The Wine Independent

The 2020 Pedesclaux has a deep garnet-purple color. It flies out of the glass with bright, energetic scents of cassis and crushed blackberries, followed by wafts of kirsch, violets, and underbrush. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly styled and refreshing, with fine-grained tannins and a mineral-laced finish.
