Bourgogne, Rouge, 2021
Delicate, supple, open, charming and engaging; this is what Bourgogne rouge is all about. Sweet cherry notes alongside wilder red berries. Lacy in detail, melting in texture. You will wonder where the bottle went. This is in fact one third declassified Maranges villages, one third declassified Hautes Côtes de Beaune and one third Bourgogne from the Puligny commune. 20% whole bunch fermentation. Aged in 25% new oak barrels.
critic reviews
The 2021 Bourgogne Rouge has a pretty nose with cranberry, raspberry and a touch of stoniness. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy tannins. The 2021 has a little more backbone than other regional reds but still with plenty of freshness on the finish.
