A cool, but sun-exposed plot that is the last to be harvested. This has more than a passing resemblance to the Combe-influenced Gevrey Lavaut St Jacques – fresh, breezy and taut flavours with silky tannins wrapped gently around bright alpine berry, blueberry and forest berry fruit; hints of mineral and oyster shell complete the complex, focused finish. Glorious. From a stunning south-facing parcel of 40-50 year old vines situated at the mouth of a combe where the air is cool. Planted on marne soils. Fermented with 20% whole bunches,

The 2020 Marsannay Les Echezots shows a little stemminess on the nose, well-defined, quite tertiary in style. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, quite precise and demonstrating well-judged acidity, fanning out gently on the finish. Classy.
