Nuits St Georges, Les Bousselots, 1er Cru, 2014

Like Chaignots another Nuits from the north side, but this is very different in profile. The fruit is darker, there is more density here. Notes of velvety and voluptuous bramble and dark cherry. A little less open than the other wines but aeration gradually unlocks the tight-knit flavours. There is a lot of wine here, it is well covered with fruit but it is the smooth and caressing texture of this wine that makes it so alluring. Bousselots is from the Vosne side of the Nuits commune and tends to produce silky- textured Nuits St Georges.
