Château Duhart Milon Rothschild, 4eme Cru Classé, Pauillac
Château Duhart Milon

Château Duhart Milon Rothschild, 4eme Cru Classé, Pauillac, 2012

justerini & brooks tasting note

Duhart Milon has been one of the best performing Pauillac estates over the last decade. As it's a DBR wine, it is quite easy to dismiss it as something for a market with a huge and growing economy and massive population; however, Duhart is a cracking wine and is not unreasonably priced. There is a lot more power here (tasted after the Carruades). Classic, graceful, Pauillac lines: cassis, cut flowers, menthol, gravelly minerality, cool and sophisticated. It's not a blockbuster, but it is quite regal and there are is lots of persistence. A very good effort. 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot.
