Echézeaux, Grand Cru, 2015
Silky and enticing, a stunning Echézeaux from two prime plots, les Rouges and Cruots. Seductive and suave flavours of strawberry, kirsch and damson, so curvaceous, lacy and fine, great length and concentration. Intense but there is nothing forceful about it at all. Fluid and elegant, this glides across the palate.
critic reviews
The 2015 Echézeaux Grand Cru, which came from a decanted bottle, has quite a potent bouquet with red fruit, blood orange and light earthy scents—very well defined and nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with more black fruit coming to the fore, again, slithers of blood orange, some blue fruit, supple tannins and a dab of black pepper on the finish. This has a lot of energy and will give another 20 years of drinking pleasure.
