September marks the month Bordeaux looks beyond the Gironde to the far-flung corners of the wine world. The usual throng of Opus One, Masseto, Solaia, Sena, Almaviva, Hommage a Jacques Perrin, Jaboulet’s La Chapelle Hermitage and Vin de Constance has been joined by cult names from around the globe, including Champagne, Spain, Australians and a host of cult Californians. Bordeaux has also jumped on the bandwagon. There will be releases from Latour, Palmer and the excellent white wines from Cheval Blanc and Chateau d’Yquem, Le Petit Cheval Blanc and Y de Yquem.
