Value red Burgundy to drink now

Complementing the domaine’s Bourgogne rouge, this collection also features Bachelet Monnot’s Maranges 1er Cru, made with a proportion of whole bunches and aged in 25% new oak. A truly fantastic iteration of this often-overlooked appellation, this is a complex wine, its earthy undergrowth notes adding dimension before a clear and vivid finish. It’s joined by Robert Groffier’s fully ready Passetoutgrains, whose richness and depth belies its modest classification, with Gamay’s saltiness adding bite to the ripe, juicy Pinot to deliver a Passetoutgrains of tremendous class.

We’ve also included a Marsannay from the deservedly heralded Bruno Clair, along with a Pierre Boisson red Hautes Côtes de Beaune. Pierre Boisson is based in Meursault and is better known for its whites from the eponymous appellation, yet its red cuvées harness the same vibrancy, intensity and electricity, not least this inclusion.
