Bonnes Mares, Grand Cru, 2012
Deep and more closed than the Clos de Bèze, but similarly refined and delicate. There is power and finesse in equal measure. A reserved, composed Bonnes-Mares, bordering on demure, offering finely scented fruit notes of red cherry, wild strawberry, plum stone and minerals. From two parcels in the Morey commune, one of which is next to Clos de Tart, giving quite a generous, rich and voluptuous style of Bonnes-Mares.
critic reviews
An exuberant, no holds-barred Burgundy, the 2012 Bonnes-Mares is utterly captivating. The tannins are fierce so, readers are going to have to be very patient. Still, there is plenty to look forward to. The 2012 is a classic, vertical Bonnes-Mare built in verticality and intensity. Lavender, mint, violets and white pepper meld into the super-expressive finish.
