    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

A truly accomplished Vaudenelles this, one that manages to retain the vineyard’s habitual sense of high-toned delicacy with a bit more structure than in recent vintages. Wilted roses, rosehip and herbs over pale red berries. Really quite a complex florality, then on the palate, a salty grip to the translucent fruit. Planted in 1970, well suited to warm vintages, Vaudenelles is a relatively high Marsannay vineyard whose white marl soils produce fine grained elegant wines that can often be approached relatively young. Fermented now with 50% whole bunches and aged in predominantly used oak barrels.

The 2022 Marsannay Les Vaudenelles has a well-defined, quite perfumed bouquet, with wilted rose petals percolating through the red cherry and strawberry fruit. The medium-bodied palate is light-bodied and fresh, if a little simple. Fine tension on the finish.
