    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Denis Durantou's Lalande de Pomerol is always one of the best value buys. From sandy, gravelly soils, this is unpretentious and very yummy. Notes of smoke, coal dust, minerals and fine black fruits. The palate is packed with pure, svelte fruit; there is good density, refined ripe tannins and a lovely sense of freshness on the finish.

The 2010 La Chenade has a slightly anonymous bouquet that is missing the energy of its peers. Nothing bad, just a little predictable. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine depth, but not complex and it comes across rather staid on the finish. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal.
