Domaine Beausejour

Nestled between the communes of Noyers-sur-Cher and Saint-Romain-sur-Cher in the Touraine appellation of the Loire Valley, Domaine Beauséjour spans 20 hectares of vineyards. The estate has long been recognised for producing wines that authentically express the region's diverse terroir.

In June 2022, the estate underwent a significant transition when Philippe and Véronique Trotignon, the fourth-generation proprietors, entrusted the domaine to brothers Arnaud and Albéric Lechat. This change marked the beginning of a new chapter, with the Lechat brothers bringing fresh perspectives while honoring the estate's rich history.

The vineyards are planted predominantly with Sauvignon Blanc, covering 12 hectares, including a parcel of the rare Fié Gris (Sauvignon Rose). The remaining vineyards feature Gamay, Cabernet Franc, and a growing selection of Malbec. The estate benefits from a mix of deep sandy soils in Noyers-sur-Cher, enhancing the aromatic profile of the Sauvignon Blanc, and heavier clay-limestone soils in Saint-Romain-sur-Cher, contributing to the structure and depth of the wines.

Committed to sustainable viticulture, the estate employs practices such as low yields, leaf-thinning, and green harvesting to ensure the production of healthy, concentrated fruit. In the cellar, fermentation occurs in thermo-regulated stainless steel or lined concrete vats, with extended lees contact and gentle bâtonnage enhancing the wines' texture and aromatic complexity.

A standout in the portfolio is the 'Les Silex' cuvée, a Sauvignon Blanc that showcases classic Loire Valley characteristics of gooseberry, citrus, and a distinctive mineral finish. The 2022 vintage, the first under the Lechat brothers' stewardship, has been well-received, indicating a promising future for the estate.

Under the guidance of Arnaud and Albéric Lechat, Domaine Beauséjour continues to honor its legacy while embracing innovation. The estate remains dedicated to producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of Touraine, offering wine enthusiasts authentic expressions of the Loire Valley's rich viticultural heritage.
