    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Redder fruits than the other Correggia wines, a step up in finesse and complexity, juicy small wild red berry fruit mixed with strong oak spice and balsamic notes, with fruit liqueur touches on the finish. The longer this is open the more the fruit dominates the initially forceful oak. There are similarities to the wines of La Morra but this is very much its own thing, slighter and more immediate than a Barolo, softer sweet fruits and spice characteristics. Smoother and less chunky. A single vineyard Roero of 45-year-old vines planted on a mixture of light, sandy soils typical of Roero together with less common clay , which produce Roeros extraordinary class and composure that can age well. As of the 2005 vintage this is designated DOCG, so can now be called Riserva. Aged for two years in oak barrels and two years in bottle.
