Clairette, VV, 2021

Tasting Note:

Round and silky, initially, yet this gains in precision and freshness as it rolls across the palate tapering into a zesty, taut, salty finish. More intense and complex, deep with a nutty complexity, stony, a touch of flint, blossom and more. From the Saint Prefert terroir in the south of the appellation with its galet roulés, gravel, blue clay and sandy soils. 100% Clairette Rose and Blanche planted in 1940. Ageing is 18 months, 50% in glass globe, 50% in demi-muid. A tiny production, bottled exclusively in magnums.
