Vaucluse is an IGP region in the southern Rhône, covering a broad area and producing red, white and rosé wine. Like many IGP regions, the advantage is to allow growers to use a broader range of viticultural and winemaking techniques that may not be permitted within their AOC region. It also allows for a greater expression of grape varieties, including blends between the classic grapes of the Rhône and international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The top producers here manage with the best of both worlds, like Chêne Bleu and their brilliantly varied portfolio.
