Robertson

Robertson is a large, wine-producing area in the Breede River Valley region of the Western Cape. The vineyards spread across a broad, flat plain, often finding themselves situated close to the Breede River itself. Temperatures are warm, often exceeding 30°C, but the cooling breezes from the nearby Indian Ocean help to moderate this and maintain freshness in the Shiraz, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir that is commonly grown here. The wines are rich and concentrated yet accessible, with producers like Long Beach making wines that are truly expressive of Robertson´s diversity.
