A Boca do Demo hails from a 0.8HA single plot of 70 year old vines within the wider Finca El Curvado. Next to the lighter, more youthful Finca El Curvado, A Boca do Demo offers up a deeper and more profound complexity, with fine violet, black pepper and stony notes reminiscent of the finest Northern Rhone Syrahs. A wine of levity and poise but with great underlying concentration and minerality, the 2018 is the most elegant rendition to date, being crisper and more vibrant than the more soulful, sumptuous 2017. Both are a joy for different reasons. Today the 2018 exhibits a beautiful salinity, red and black “infused” fruit and a bright, trembling acidity. Truly a wine of the mountains, its minerality and core of intense yet lifted fine boned fruit makes drinking a bottle a truly effortless exercise. Fermented with 100% whole bunches and raised in large foudre and neutral 500L barrels. 2,500bts produced.
