Finca el Curvado, Ribeira Sacra,

Finca El Curvado is produced from five plots of the same wider single vineyard, blending 45 to 70 year old vines. Mencia based but in practice a natural field blend which includes up to 20% of other varieties such as Alicante Bouschet and Bastardo, with some local white grape varieties too. Violet-scented with red plums, strawberry leaf and dark cherry on the palate. A herbal and subtle spiciness adds complexity. 2017 is the product of a warmer vintage and, as such, it is already attractive and easy to drink. Fermented with 100% whole bunches and aged in neutral 500L barrels. A great introduction to the schist-dominated slopes of La Chantada, a cooler sub-zone of Ribeira Sacra.
