Richard Ellis, winemaker, formerly of Ata Rangi and Greywacke, held senior roles at both estates. Stuart Dudley, viticulturist, ran the Villa Maria reserve programme and is armed with an in-depth understanding of the best sites and soils in Marlborough (not to mention his address book). David Nash, after a long and successful career in advertising in London, returned to New Zealand to act as the creative force behind the project. As a team, The Marlborist is styled as “a celebration of all that we love about Marlborough. This is our home, the place where we have built our knowledge and honed our craft, working for some of the region's pioneers.”
