4000 bottles of this will be produced. A cellar rather than vineyard selection that is the result of a blind tasting of Aïeul and Tradition Cuvées that is only made in the very best vintages. Aged in demi-muids and barriques (40% new), this is dense, powerful, broad-shouldered Châteauneuf; not for the faint-hearted, this shows intense, chewy notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, spice, bramble and black cherry.

Inky ruby. Expansive, seductively perfumed bouquet of black and blue fruit compote and potpourri, with suggestions of cola and spicecake. Very rich and deep in dark berry flavors but also shockingly fresh and delineated, with brighter red fruits emerging on the back end. Blends elegance and power deftly, finishing with mineral-laced red and dark fruit flavors and lingering floral notes.
