Prieuré Saint Côme

Prieuré Saint Côme

Owner Julien Brocard manipulates vines around the village of Préhy planted on a mixture of the unique kimmeridgean and portlandian clay soils that lend such complexity and minerality to his wines. These are very much traditionally made Chablis, vinified in vats and aged in neutral large oak foudres for a year before bottling. Julien's achievements in viticulture, in particular, are staggering - converting two thirds of his estate (amounting to 120 ha of vines) in such a marginal climat is nothing short of incredible. Brocard had made a name themselves for vivid, classic, minerally Chablis that was great value for money. Not only will this continue but, with the many improvements Julien has made since taking over from his father Jean-Marc, the Domaine should start to be recognised as one of the qualitative leaders in the region, too.
