Sicilia IGT

Terre Siciliane, or Sicilia IGT as it was known, is the general appellation that covers the entire of Sicily. Literally “The Sicilian Lands”, this appellation allows for huge flexibility in wine-making styles, allowing wine-makers to take advantage of the diverse regions and micro-climates across the island. The focus is split between indigenous varieties, such as Nero d´Avola, Frappato and Grillo vs the international varieties that have done so well here. Most of the highly sought after producers, such as Poggio Anima, focus on indigenous grapes farmed using sustainable methods of viticulture; a key to the success of the region.
