critic reviews

89+/100William Kelley,Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The second wine of Belair Monange, the 2019 Annonce exhibits aromas of cassis and wild berries mingled with hints of raw cocoa and creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with a ripe core of fruit, powdery tannins and succulent acids, it's a solid effort that will reward a bit of bottle age.

The 2019 Annonce de Bélair-Morange, the Deuxième Vin, has a perfumed, more floral bouquet than the Troisième Vin, a stony/limestone element percolating through the carapace of red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. This feels cohesive and smooth, perhaps just missing a little amplitude toward the finish, though it feels reassuringly persistent. Give it two or three years in bottle.

92/100Jane Anson,Inside Bordeaux

The tannins are tight and austere right now, and need a few years to soften, but there is precision, and the same chiselled fruit profile that you find in the main wine of Belair-Monange. Bilberry and black cherry fruit, juicy finish, the limestone impact is clear. 2nd wine of Belair Monange. Harvest September 19 to October 4.
